MAGFest Game Expo - January 2nd to 4th, 2009
A classic video game show almost slipped by me this month, but thanks to fellow fan Andy for sending me a last minute e-mail about MAGFest! This video game expo held in Alexandria, Virginia takes a unique twist on the Expo format. Yes there are lectures, dealers and exhibitions, but it all done in a communal format with the special guests mingling with the fans and a laid back attitude that makes the show feel like a big party.
In addition to all of the retro gaming happenings at the show, there will also be a special world champion high score tournament to name the new champion of the classic arcade game Nibbler. You can watch live coverage of the Nibbler competition with streaming video and score tallies at RetroTing.com.
