The Pinball and Arcade Supershow

By , About.com Guide

When:

Next Show - September 19th and 20th 2008

Where:

Herrin, Illinois – The Herrin Civic Center

The Show:

The folks in Southern Illinois take their Pinball and Classic Arcade Games seriously. That's why the Southern Illinois Pinball Players Association (SIPPA) is sponsoring this Classic Gaming Show for their fourth consecutive year.

Enthusiasts and members of the SIPPA will be brining in their vast collection of popular, and unusual, arcade and pinball machines that will be available for open play throughout the event for all ticket holders. Although the private collections won't be for sale, there are numerous classic video game and pinball cabinets and systems that will also be available for purchase.

In addition to the gaming fun, the show will feature a Charity Auction with all proceeds donated to the Shawnee Crisis Pregnancy Center as well as Big Brothers/Big Sisters. The auction is still accepting donations of different classic video game and pinball related items.

Tickets to the event are the same as all the previous years: Adults - $10 - 1 day ticket, $17 - 2 day ticket, Kids 6 to 12 - $5 per day with adult, Children 5 years and younger attend for FREE with paying adults.

Events:

  • Classic Video Game and Pinball Machines, all available for open play.
  • Dealers will be on hand selling systems, machines and memorabilia.
  • The Showdown at Sundown – An annual tournament where participants, who pay a separate entrance fee of $5, complete for the highest score in four different pinball machines. Unfortunately there will be no classic video game tournament.
