While the original game was developed and published by Konami, the remake has been created and released by the Turtles' latest game rights owners, Ubisoft.
Turtles in Time was a direct sequel to the original TMNT Arcade game and the fourth in the console line of Turtles games, however if you also include the computer and handheld games, it is actually the seventh TMNT title released.
