Howard the Duck - Adventure on Volcano Island for the Commodore 64 - Review

About.com Rating 2

Final Thoughts

Although the film was a phenomenal bomb, today, it’s groaningly bad humor, cornball dialogue and general bad-movie-ness has developed a cut following, but the video game remains all but forgotten. If you seek this one out, go after it for the cult status, not gameplay value, as it’s doubtful you’ll play it again after the first go round.

Parents Tips

Howard the Duck predates the ESRB, but it most likely would have received an E for Everyone had it been released today. Although by today’s standards, the film would have received an R-Rating due to Howard’s trademark cigar, the game is void of all of Howard’s bad habits. He doesn’t smoke, swear, or even scowl. As a matter of fact he looks more like a cartoon duck, smiling, cutely wagging his tail and wearing pants. This makes for a more boring Howard, but more than safe for youngsters.
